The German manufacturer has unveiled the first official images of the second generation of its urban SUV which will be available in thermal and electric engines. It will arrive on the market in early 2021.
Definitely in vogue, the compact electric SUV segment is enriched with a new model with the Opel Mokka-e. The brand has just lifted the curtain on the second generation with an in-depth revised design that is gaining in personality.
The mask before the new Mokka says a style more sports and cozy, with its grille “Vizor” that stretches between the two wings or in which the headlights LED and the logo of the brand, the famous Opel Blitz. Compared to the first generation Mokka, its successor is more stocky, having lost 12.5 cm in length (4.5 m in length) and gained 2 cm in wheelbase. The rear of the Mokka II plays on sober and sporty notes with its very slender LED lights and a fold of the tailgate which comes to structure the whole.
100 kW 136 hp electric motor
A simple and very readable design found in the passenger compartment with a dashboard arranged around two 10 and 12 inch screens juxtaposed for infotainment (compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto ) and driver display. The center console, free of a speed selector and a handbrake lever (which becomes electric), is completely flat, which increases the impression of space.
On the engine side, the Mokka-e is designed on the basis of the PSA group’s CMP platform and equipped with a 100 kW 136 hp electric motor offering 260 Nm of torque for a maximum speed of 150 km / h. The 50 kWh battery, compatible with 100 kW fast recharging (80% charge restored in 30 minutes), offers up to 322 km of autonomy (WLTP cycle). Opel has not yet communicated on the prices of the Mokka-e and its petrol and diesel versions . Orders will be open from the end of summer and deliveries are expected in early 2021.
